The BJP and the INDIA alliance have accused one another in the verbal sparring on reservations of attempting to undercut the quotas for OBCs and SC/STs. The BJP has stated that the INDIA parties want to take reservations away from SC/STs and OBCs and offer them to minorities, despite the INDIA parties claiming that a return Narendra Modi government will "change" the Constitution and hence target reservations. "Until the time I am alive, I will not let them (India) give reservations meant for Dalits, SCs, STs, and OBCs to Muslims in the name of religion," Prime Minister Modi has stated in a number of electoral rallies.
